About Edwards, Colorado
Four miles from Beaver Creek Resort and 14 miles from Vail Resort, tiny and tranquil Edwards, Colorado has a surprising amount of draw for visitors. Positioned almost at the center of the Eagle River Valley, it benefits from geography that lends well to the rolling greens of golf courses like Arrowhead, Country Club of the Rockies, Cordillera and Sonnenalp Resorts – and receives less snow than the high peaks of the nearby ski mountains for a much more mild and sunny climate.
The Vail campus of Colorado Mountain College is located in Edwards, and many families and local businesses also call it home. Along the Eagle River, the fishing is beautiful with a paved path running the length of it for walkers and bicyclists. Right next to the river, the Riverwalk shopping district has countless chic boutiques for clothing or home decor, a cozy local book shop, numerous restaurants and lodging – all with a surprisingly metropolitan feel. A short drive up Lake Creek or Squaw Creek Road and visitors will again find themselves in the mountains with opportunities for horseback riding, sleigh rides, sightseeing of historic homesteads and hiking.
